Let our interpreters come to you!
Dates:  Available Mondays through Fridays, November 3 - December 11, 2009
AND Tuesdays through Fridays, February 16- March 31, 2010
Cost:   The cost is $75 per session, plus mileage round trip for one interpreter. Our programs are available for children in grades 3-6. We can accommodate 25 students during each 2.5 hour session.  Each classroom will need to have its own program.  Choose between:

     Ioway Indian Program
Ever wonder what Iowa was like before it became a state? Find out about the lives of Native      Americans. Discover the food they ate; how their homes, clothes, and tools were made; and the responsibilities each member of the family had. Learn about the influence the French Fur traders had on life in Iowa. Through the help of a slide show, artifacts and hands-on activities, students will discover what life was like for the original farmers of Iowa.

What is an ox? How do you cook in a fireplace? How do you build a log house? These and many other questions will be answered in this interactive program designed to give your students an introduction to life in Iowa at the time of statehood. Artifacts, a slide show, hands-on activities and games will let your students know what it was like to be a pioneer in Iowa.
